Are law students lawyers?

No, law students in India are not considered lawyers. In India, to become a practicing lawyer, one must complete a five-year undergraduate law degree (such as the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)) and then enroll with a state bar council to practice law. Additionally, one may also have to clear the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) conducted by the Bar Council of India. Only after fulfilling these requirements can an individual be recognized as a practicing lawyer in India.
